Nice diner for Noodle dishes. Also some other dishes (see menus already posted). Had the pulled pork burger and was really good. Noodle dishes are large and tasty. They make it spicy as you want it. Friendly service.
This place is amazing. The staff are very friendly and engaging. They kept coming to fill our cups with water many times without us asking. And they are very helpful with the menu. The place is very cozy. They have a small mart on the left side of the room. With drinks, sandwiches, onigiri, and other items. The food is really good. Very flavorful and the noodles are fresh with good texture. The broth is tasty and the portion is big. Really good pricing, I hope it doesn't change.
Love the bright interior of this new location! Besides from their rice and noodle dishes, they also have a selection of bento boxes, sandwiches, onigiris and asian snacks at this location. My favourite dishes were the tomato and soy bean hand pull noodle that was sweet and savoury and the new tongguan thousand layer burger that was so flakey and crispy! (disclaimer: invited for a media tasting but review is my own opinion)
We were traveling in Vancouver and this bowl of noodles was a pleasant surprise on our journey. The hand-pulled noodles were springy and had a great, authentic texture. There's parking available behind the restaurant, and the interior was clean and comfortable. Highly recommended!
Delicious! We had the spicy oil beef noodle with Biang biang noodles, lamb stew with noodles and thousand layer burger with cumin lamb. Everything was flavoured perfectly. The lamb noodles were tasty and comforting. Prices were reasonable too. Service was great and fast.
“When you order most spicy and it is not really spicy but more about the smell of the pepper ” the food is goooood. Definitely recommend the Tongguan Burger with the stewed pork, the bun is crispy, give 10/10. The XiAn cold noodle is not bad, but can have a bit stronger flavour, give 8/10. The hot spicy oil on tomato egg and spicy sour pork is also good, give 8/10 as well.
This new location is only a block away from the skytrain station. It’s so convenient. Unlike other locations, they have a mixture of market and dine in area. The market has take out food like sandwiches, bentos, onigiri, hotpot meal, snacks and drinks. However, I do highly recommend ordering from their hot food. We ordered garlic cucumber, dumplings in hot and sour soup, beef hand pulled noodle soup, Xian cold noodles, cumin beef thousand layer and beef brisket rice bowl. If I can only pick two dishes, the thousand layer burger and beef hand pulled noodle soup are my fave. The noodle texture is Al dente and the beef shank is tender. The thousand layer burger is flaky and go so well with the cumin beef. The prices for their dishes are around 15. It is affordable and comes in generous portion. The staff are friendly and attention. They come around often the refill water and check on the customers.
I was impressed by my lamb with cumin and hand pulled noodles, F3. Nice and meaty tasting, with healthy veggies and chewy perfect hand pulled noodles! My companion loved his tomato and egg with noodles and gave it an 8.5/10! It looks like a modern yet retro diner, with a wall of takeaway bentos, drinks, and snacks on the left, and the name of the restaurant is on the ceiling! You order at the counter and wait for your meal at your table. The service was extremely attentive and pleasant. The management is eager and helpful. We happened to be there for the Grand Opening, so they provided us with free cake and fresh blueberries and strawberries! We bought the mango and peach Japanese sodas to go with our meals. Unfortunately I got full after eating only 1/3 of my meal. The leftovers had to go into two containers! Prices were very good and the portions were great. Country music was playing, which I thought was an interesting choice. Although every table was filled, we didn’t have to raise our voices to converse, which was a big win in my book. They gave us free keychains as a souvenir... We will be back.
